Jiyeon is the Warehouse Lead/Produce Buyer at Saba. Their background is in agroecology and sustainable food systems. Jiyeon started as a packer in the warehouse but began to take interest in Saba as a Produce Buyer because he saw that he can help close the gap between the farmers and buyers. This role at Saba sparked a joy with him because he still maintains connections to farmers who are stewarding land locally, support and buy from small scale BIPOC farmers to expand and help grow their businesses, while also working towards getting fresh food to neighborhoods all over Oakland proper.
